Your body's fat storage is not as accessible or controllable as muscles. It's to a degree dictated by genetics and obviously metabolism which is governed by more than one factor. Genetically speaking, the majority of people carry excess weight in their bellies, but not everyone. When you see a pear-shaped man who is carrying most of his weight below the belly, people are inclined to be puzzled. That's genetics. Metabolism is something over which you have some control. Strength training increases metabolism, especially in men. Protein converts to muscle mass, carbs convert to fuel or fat. Strength training burns carbs and fat. There are no real shortcuts to a lean belly other than liposuction.
