Turns out the pumps worked. Where my house is was part of the federal project to fix them after Katrina.
The parishes east of New Orleans got a lot of flooding. They have not been upgraded.

How are you all surviving the heat wave? Here in NNY it's been in the mid-high 80's for several days. No big deal even for us. Except the humidity is stuck on the setting where it won't rain but you can almost squeeze the water out of the air. Go outside and move, like at all, and you will sweat. The air cannot hold the moisture to do much of a job evaporating that sweat to cool you so you just keep sweating. I worked outside for quite a while yesterday and it drained me but looked good on the scales. Until I started pounding ice waters that is. LOL
But seriously, i know most of you are in much warmer areas and i wondered how it was going

It is in the high 90s with a heat index of 110+. Drink lots of water. We will get a break Monday.

Sounds even worse than here. Hopefully all the old folks and people with kids have working AC this weekend. Well hopefully everyone does.
