I'm sorry but I firmly believe if you gave the homeless shotguns they would sell them immediately to buy more drugs or alcohol. This would be a case of firearms ending up in the hands of criminals. This is a group of people who cannot function in society. Arming them does not make much sense to be honest.

Most are either drunks or drug addicts. I know there are some who are not but I believe by and large they are dysfunctional because of drug or alcohol abuse (or bi polar and won't take their medication)

I think I would take exception to labeling the would be Senator "insane". Misguided maybe but no more insane then most, if not all, liberals

So a mother of three living out of her car working odd jobs is a drunk or addict? I would wager most are not.

Great idea - a shotgun in a car with three little kids .. right Chris?

The homeless mother of three is the exception and there are many programs to get her and her children off the street.

I accept there are cases, where the homeless are addicts, or mentally unstable, that it wouldn't be wise to give shotguns to. But by no means all cases.
