Maine Republican who called Parkland shooting survivor ‘skinhead lesbian’ drops bid f

"A Republican candidate for the state legislature in Maine who called an outspoken Parkland shooting survivor a “skinhead lesbian" has dropped out of the race.
Leslie Gibson announced Friday he was ending his bid for a state House seat after he insulted 18-year-old Emma Gonzalez, who gave a rousing speech calling for gun control in the days following the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting that left 17 dead in Florida last month.
Despite his shocking attack, Gibson told the Press Herald on Friday, “I am not walking away with my head hung low. I am walking away with my head held high.”

You learn from your mistakes; hopefully he'll never make a mistake like that again if he hopes to run for public office.

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

It’s only a mistake if you didn’t intend to make the comment. The only thing he has learned is that he needs to be in a red state for those comments to get appreciated. I’ll let the comments in the thread prove my point.
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”
