How the connected Get away with it <Weinstein>

NYPD reportedly hid Weinstein accuser from his cronies at the Manhattan DA

Prosecutor refusing to prosecute is one of the ways the rich and powerful get away with breaking laws. Its one of the most frustrating situations for Police who know via facts of investigation that the person is dead on guilty, they are powerless to do anything about it.

NYPD sex-crime detectives once had to hide a woman accusing Harvey Weinstein of assault — stashing her away from both the movie mogul’s lawyers and his cronies in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, a report said Friday.
Investigators told New York magazine that they had Weinstein dead to rights in 2015 after he allegedly groped Italian model Ambra Battilana in his office.

That was until Manhattan DA Cy Vance Jr., whose office had close ties to Weinstein’s legal team, chose not to prosecute in a decision that still irks investigators who worked the case, according to the mag.
The Weinstein probe was so sensitive, Special Victims Division commander Michael Osgood and his team checked Battilana into Manhattan hotels under assumed names.
“We decided we’re going to hide the victim,” said retired Sgt. Michael Bock of NYPD’s Special Victims Division. “From the DA.”
Weinstein’s legal team on the Battilana matter included attorneys Elkan Abramowitz and Linda Fairstein, former head of the Manhattan DA’s Sex Crimes Unit.
Abramowitz is a former partner of Vance’s while Fairstein is a close pal of Martha Bashford — head of the DA’s Sex Crimes Unit back in 2015 and still today.

and the table just keeps getting more tilted .

Poor man hires hooker, both go to jail. Rich man can pay the living expenses for an on demand mistress and it's all perfectly legal. Just another example

Time we come up with some sort of consequence for Prosecutors. After all, they are the ones that decide if a case is going to trial. If they get it wrong. Time to pay the price.

Powerful and rich people will always get away with more... I would hold prosecutors responsible, and sometimes law enforcement, depending on who makes the decision to let that happen. The rich and powerful are only entitled because they have been led to think that they can be.

When deals are made they most always are made in the DAs office and at times the Judges.

Both can negate months of investigative police work in a flash or stymy a working investigation for the rich powerful and influential.

Its the same situation with politicians who get nothing where others would be prosecuted for it.

The criminal justice system is not fair and theres no way to make it fair. Everyone has to accept that its a tad better than everyone elses.

Make no mistake Lawyers run this country. They are always the ones standing in front of the rich and powerful making the deals with other lawyers. Lawyers also get away with murder in this country
