UMBC?!? True March Madness #16 knocks off a #1

Wow. I saw that this was the first 16 knocking off a 1 in 135 games. Wow. Think that for their entire lives they'll be known as players on the team that made history. The Virginia players..., well, remember the Soviets that lost to the Miracle on Ice team?

Not just a #1 seed, but the over all #1 seed. Amazing game, UMBC owned UVA in most every aspect of the game.

That's true, the overall #1, truly incredible. Other than the Buckeyes and Kent State, I don't pay much attention to college basketball during the season. March Madness is a blast, though.

My Uncle Pasquale was a basket ball fan, he called just called it Baskets. He would say cmon lets go watch them throw baskets.

He like college best but he went to some pro games. I never took to basketball in a big way and im certainly not a fan.
I was always a combat sport guy, college wrestling, boxing back then.

I know Virginia didn't play their best, but UNBC impressed me. They hit a bunch of threes, but they were open looks, and the guards did fantastic, they got wherever they wanted on the floor, handled the the trapping and defensive pressure well, etc. They didn't just win, they blew them out. Interested to see if they can carry this momentum.

Wow! UVM beat them handily both times they played during the regular season, and yet they took the game that brought them where they are right now. I guess they know where they are and what to do...


I can only imagine the tears being shed in Vegas (no crying towel is big enough LOL) over this amazing win.


I would also assume that there will be no perfect brackets this year...

ESPN reported that there was not a single complete bracket in their tournament after last night. I still have the Buckeyes to win it all. (I do every time they're in FYI.)
