What was the first Movie you ever saw in a theatre?

That's cool. Parts of, "Salem's Lot," was filmed in and, around my hometown..... Salinas, CA.

Is that the 2004 re-make with Rob Lowe, or the '79 TV movie starring David Soul? The latter was filmed principally in Ferndale, CA, about ten years before I lived there. The old Victorian-style houses make it a popular location for films that are supposed to be set in New England.

The '79 version....at least, I was told/read, certain scenes were filmed on/in the area of Old Stage road... I lived in that area when I was a kid.

Sure, a lot of movies where the story is supposed to be happening in one place actually feature scenes filmed in multiple locations. Wherever they have to go to get the shot the Director is looking for.

Shortly after we moved away from Ferndale, they came in and filmed that Ebola movie, Outbreak, with Dustin Hoffman and I think it was Rene Russo there. It's such a laid-back little town of 1400, and I can just imagine the film people coming in and saying, "We want to bring in tanks, troops and helicopters and surround the town with barbed wire" and the locals just saying, "Cool!".
