Ohio’s Campaign-Finance Laws for Judges Debated at Sixth Circuit

This is an interesting issue. Ohio's judicial campaign financing have always made attorneys uncomfortable. We are well into the election cycle and I have already been tapped for donations by 5 sitting judges and 2 wannabees. You say 'no' and they'll remember it. This issue, though, is a time limit issue. The candidate pushing this issue argued that it is an unconstitutional limit on speech.

I dont know whats worse elected judges or appointed judges.

Here in Fla you have what I call the hangman syndrome, if the people that vote for you want a hard nosed stick it to them judge, then thats what they do to get re elected and vice versa. Appointed judges I would think would be fairer over all, since they own allegiance to who appointed them and not all voters.

Judges here put out campaign ads and run TV ads.
