    $25B!!

Put in perspective, Obama's last budget was nearly $4T.

    $25B divided by $4T would be 0.625%.

Personally, I'm not for building a wall. We shouldn't have a government that wastes $4T of our money.
Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire. ― Gustav Mahler

I'm griping about liberals who are suddenly opposed to the wall, calling it racist policy, and griping themselves about 25 billion being "a lot of money."

Given the current state of affairs in Congress, the wall will never be built and all of the finger pointing in the world won't change the state of political polarization or the fact that more than half of the country could not care less about a wall. I suggested a non-political solution that would likely attract even those who have no interest in a wall to participate. Shrug.
I would have said that about a major corporate and individual tax cut passed just two months ago too. I would never have thought a repeal of the Obamacare mandate was possible either. Nor did I think Republicans would drop a nuke on their Gorsuch filibuster, but they did that. I didn't think Trump would get elected, if I had money to bet that night, I would have gone with H. Never say never Dr. Who. A 16 beat a Number 1 in the NCAA tourney this year, Loyola..is going to the final four.

Instead of building the wall I would rather see Trump go hard all out after sanctuary cities and california and push it right to the Supreme Court where they cannot win.

As hes pushing it through the courts, ram down hard on immigration laws and ENFORCE them.

There is not a liberal including yourself whom I hold in very high regard can justify Illegal immigration or sanctuary cities or what california is doing. All anyone can do is make excuses that do not hold up to reasonable argument and facts.

Sorry Doc with liberals illegal immigrants mean congressional seats and votes and thats it and they want the entire country to pay for it.

There are to many segments of our citizenry suffering because of MONEY and lack of will to take care of them, like the Mentally Ill and the Homeless and Veterans. It disgusts me that we spend BILLIONS on educating, healthcare, Incarceration, and gimmees for illegal immigrants who broke our laws to get here.

Its one of my top peeves with democrats and liberals.

I have been mulling over strategies the Republicans could consider to lessen the damage they did to themselves. Every Republican up for election must be far more aggressive at meeting with the people they intend to represent between now and November. Some, perhaps many, races can be nationalized, meaning President Trump will be on the ballot for all intents and purposes. And finally, Republicans need to find bonafide Constitutional Conservatives who are articulate, and impassioned, then fund their races.

I think every one of my strategies is beyond most Republicans.

If one-third of the population want the wall, they will be motivated to choose this lottery over Mega Millions or Powerball. That could be up to $200,000,000 or more in ticket purchases every week. Think about it. Take away $40M, each week still nets $8.3B a year. It took 3 years just to put up the fence. This wouldn't be unprecedented in the world of lotteries. Many fund infrastructure or other projects.
Maybe we can do the same for all national defense issues.

Let's do it for everything. Want welfare programs? Powerball! Want massive immigration? Lottery! Want Medicare and Medicaid funding. Lottery!

Abolish the horrible income tax and let the people decide.

Nothing I wrote should change your mind. I do not see any Republicans aggressively arranging town hall meetings all across their districts. I do not yet see anyone at the RNC attempting to nationalize the elections. Nor do I see constitutional conservatives being selected and groomed for greatness.

The good news is a Democratic takeover will sink the nation much quicker.

TBH Common, I'm not in favor of illegal immigration, but I know who is attracting illegals and they are the same people who resent people being paid a living wage, so they would rather pay illegals under the table. Do the Dems capitalize on it, no doubt. The other side of that equation is that Republicans also benefit from the lobbyists who want to keep that gravy train flowing.
