Do 5 Million Americans Really Live in Third World Poverty?
We have had several threads on the book Thomas Piketty’s Capital in the 21st Century check it out. It is the most important economics book to come out in decades because he uses more historical data than anyone, but as I explained in the past he excludes certain data: most importantly two things. For purposes of this post- he did not include social welfare benefits into his statistics. That makes a big change to his argument and also should why 5 million Americans don't live in 3rd world poverty. That is probably under 15000.
Also he didn't include the high corporate tax rate, however that is less of a criticism since Trump. (Although I still think it is to high. I would end it. )
Read the article at the link - it seems to agree with me.
