    Mine have shot up in the past 2 years. In fact it help offset some of my tax cut. Government Game? Wouldn't surprise me.

    A brother and I just talked about this yesterday, as I just go my assessment. Texas ties assessment to the current value (unless values go down ) but California passed a referendum a while back freezing assessment at time of purchase unless you do major improvements.
