You played in the pit for a version of that didn't you? I admire that kind of work. I don't fit comfortably into large ensembles. I don't leave enough space. I read well but I find it tedious.

Here's a song I got a cd of in the mail. I get lots of great stuff I didn't ask for in the mail. Thought I'd share this one with you.

Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

That video is hilarious! People send that stuff to you? What did you do to them to deserve that?

I had two pit gigs: Hair and Velvetine Rabbit!
i play piano, but can't sight-read guitar. So when they gave me the music, I went out and bought the soundtrack and learned it by ear and then acted like I was sight reading!
i dated a girl who loved Best Little $#@!house. I must have watched it 20 times-and every time I got lucky! So I developed a great fondness for it that my wife to this day can't understand!

They didn't know that for legal reasons I can't use unsolicited materials, which is a shame because I think the chorus to that song is just hilarious.

Don't feel bad about your reading. Absolutely no one sight reads well. Pros sight read on what could best be described as a fourth grade level. Lots of sounding out words and learning definitions through context. First run throughs are notoriously unrecordable.

Listen to the gil evans arrangements for miles. Lots of the quirkiness is due to the fact the band is sight reading the charts and that Maceo likes first takes. It wasn't genius. It was CBS being cheap and controlling studio costs.

R.I.P. Col. Bruce, you picked one hell of a time/way to cash it in. I haven't watched the actual collapse (and I may not) but it's out there if your into it...
