    The Sounds of the Season

My next door neighbors moved in about 2 years ago. They have 3 boys that range from middle school to high school age. They put up a street hoop in front of their house, they have lots of friends who come and play.. There is not a sound in the neighborhood I enjoy more than hearing a group of kids playing pick up basketball in the street. For some reason it is comforting to me. I think it gives me hope that our youth are not totally lost to their electronic devices.

PS...My three point shot is gone...lol.

absolutely...we used to organize leagues when the seasons ended. When I was in my teens our street boasted 99 kids. Boomers were prolific if nothing else.

    I'm with ya....

From my wing of the house I hear...often...the kids jamming...playing D&D...just partying. Yeah, it's a good thing.

The 3 pointer saved the game. The game started becoming a few giants sitting in front of the rim.

But I agree that i would much rather hear people having fun. Many complain about the tourists down here but i try to remind them that we all moved here because it was fun, not a retirement community.
    Let's go Brandon !!!

We'd walk a mile or more to the game sometimes, other times just cross lots

This is the sound of spring where I am:

I have the same thing here but the kids are playing soccer in a miniature soccer field culled from an area below a huge staircase to the upper level of my condo about a half block away from my house. I can't do anything about it because condo's in Brazil are not like the ones in the USA. People are more passive. tolerant, long suffering and lax here.

Oh and btw..... there is no soccer season in Brazil. Soccer season 365 days of the year.
There is one tournament after the other.... no breaks.
