    In 1962 I was in the 11th grade in Jacksonville FL and would go to Daytona Beach for the Motorcycle races. I couldn't wait to graduate from high school. Now I would sincerely like to return to those mellow, laid back days.

    About all pop music was AM radio. FM was "snooty" classical music and FM was uncommon in autos. As I recall, FM retained that type of programming until late '60s.

    Any music on the charts was on AM. Station demographics were not as distinct as they now are.
