The US Navy appears to have fooled Russia/Syria with a warship ruse before the strike

Nice. It took a President who knows how to act from a position of power, to completely erase the disgrace of a president acting from a position of feckless weakness, with his internationally ridiculed, "Red Line in the Sand"...

Putin is BEGGING for the return of former pres. "More Flexible for Vlad/Do Nothing About Crimea-The Ukraine/Uranium One crimes/Election Interference" Obama.

BEGGING. It is glaringly clear that the TOTAL LACK of the threatened "retaliation" is proof Vlad knows the years of his acting with impunity on the world stage...EVEN cyber attacks on our elections...ARE OVER.

The US Navy appears to have fooled Russia and Syria with a warship ruse before the strike

When President Donald Trump threatened to strike Syria, the US Navy only had one destroyer in the region — leading people to assume that it take part in the strike.
But when the attack occurred, that ship didn't fire anything — which may have been a distraction ploy.

Instead, ships in the Red Sea fired a large portion of the missiles, while Syria and its Russian ally apparently failed entirely to defend it.

Russian threats to counter-attack also ultimately came to nothing.

When President Donald Trump threatened to send missiles at Syria — despite Russia's promises to counter-attack— all eyes turned towards the US Navy's sole destroyer in the region. But that may have been a trick.
Pundits openly scoffed at Trump's announcement of the strike days in advance, especially considering his criticism of Barack Obama for similar talk, but the actual strike appeared to go down well.

In April 2017, two US Navy destroyers in the eastern Mediterranean steamed into the region, let off 59 cruise missiles in response to suspected gas attacks by the Syrian government, and left unpunished and unpursued.

But this time, Russian officials threatened to shoot down US missiles, and potentially the ships that launched them, if they attacked Syria. A retired Russian admiral spoke candidly about sinking the USS Donald Cook, the only destroyer in the region.

When the strike happened, the Cook didn't fire a shot, and a source tell Bloomberg News it was a trick.
Instead, a US submarine, the USS John Warner, fired the missiles while submerged in the eastern Mediterranean, presenting a much more difficult target than a destroyer on the surface. Elsewhere in the sea, a French navy frigate let off three missiles.

But the bulk of the firing came from somewhere else entirely — the Red Sea.

Near Egypt, the USS Monterey, a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser fired 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles, and the USS Laboon, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer shot 7, accounting for about a third of the total 105 missiles fired.

Combined with a trilateral air assault from a US B-1B Lancer bomber and UK and French fighter jets, the attack ended up looking considerably different than last year's punitive strike.

Photos from the night of the attack show Syrian air defenses firing missile interceptors on unguided trajectories, suggesting they were simply blind fired, and did not target or intercept incoming missiles.

"No Syrian weapon had any effect on anything we did," Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie told reporters of the strike on Saturday, calling the strike "precise, overwhelming and effective."

You will celebrate and defend anything Trump does, even if it's a massive violation of his own campaign promises and assurances.

Your claim that Putin is "begging" is truly laughable. Your parroting of anti-Russian talking points makes you sound like just another Democrat hoping for WWIII.

The strikes on Syria have changed absolutely nothing about the underlying strategic reality on the ground. The Syrian government will remain in power and they will win the civil war against the TERRORISTS you sympathize with. And this will be because of Russia's timely and effective intervention.

According to Russia, none of the strikes occurred in Russia's air defense zone, so there were no missiles for them to shoot down. This is fortunate, since it is INSANE to even contemplate firing missiles at or near Russian positions.

Okay, I'll let you get back to your ceaseless worship of God-Emperor Trump. Sorry for the interruption.

According to the Russians, Syrian missile defenses shot down 71 of the cruise missiles using old Soviet-era technology. Who is telling the truth? No way to know for sure at this point. What I do know is that these strikes changed nothing about the strategic reality in Syria. Nothing at all. They were largely symbolic strikes meant to give Trump the appearance of toughness, just like the last time he illegally waged war against the Syrian government. And many of his supporters, who thrive on superficial, tough-guy posturing, will eat it up.

Right! Its was all for show, to prove to his core that he has balls!

And there are doubts about who did the gas attacks as well. False Flag?i suspect so.

"According to the Russians". "Who's telling the truth"?

    Easy...NEVER the Russians.

    Has history taught you nothing....?

Successfully destroying Syria's main chem-bio weapons plant with a well-directed coalition strike of NATO allies, is a FAR CRY from "posturing".

Putin will not do a DAMNED THING ABOUT IT, either. He knows better.

They couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, with their guided missiles, in today's world.

Our military superiority over them and China , is vast, and getter moreso, despite the slimewad Clinton allowing Tom Daschle's wife's client, LORAL, to seek guided missile tech to the Red Chinese in the 90's, advancing them DECADES ahead of where they were.

Except this action is the exact opposite of what he promised he would do during his campaign. During the campaign, he said he would stay out of Syria, that the president had no authority to attack Syria without congressional authorization, and that the US and Russia had a common interest in fighting terrorism in Syria. Trump is violating multiple important promises he made to Americans and you're cheering for it because you think it makes the US look tough. In reality, it makes the US look stupid, arrogant, and aggressive. That's why only two other countries - France and the UK - participated in the attacks. The rest of the world wanted nothing to do with it. Germany has just announced that there is no solution in Syria without Assad. Our own Kurdish allies in Syria have said that overthrowing Assad is a bad idea. Christians in Syria rely on Assad's government for their protection. Attacking Assad is aiding and abetting Islamist terrorism.

Yea, unlike the US, who always tells the truth...

Making a blustery speech about a "red line in the sand" , and then , DOING NOTHING, when it is crossed..is "posturing".
There was no proof that the "red line" was actually crossed, just as there is no proof this time. Unlike Trump, Obama was smart enough to realize this.

Successfully destroying Syria's main chem-bio weapons plant with a well-directed coalition strike of NATO allies, is a FAR CRY from "posturing".
There is no proof that Syria has a "chem-bio weapons plant", just as there is no proof that Syria used chemical weapons in Douma. It's just a giant pile of lies concocted by deep-state warmongers.

Putin will not do a DAMNED THING ABOUT IT, either. He knows better.
He doesn't have to do anything because nothing was done. Just like the LAST TIME Trump launched missiles at Syria, this changes nothing.

Yea, and that's very important to you, appearing tough. Less important, however, is appearing intelligent. And that's a problem.
