    Zion and Southern Utah

So I'm heading off to Zion and southern Utah in a few weeks. I've been to Zion once before but for only half a day.

I was wondering if anyone had any "must see" suggestions for Zion, Bryce or Grand Staircase. Trail suggestions, small towns to see, etc...

I've been through the area a few times and have found great places and super nice people. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm flying into Vegas.

    Nobody's been?

I thought it would be a nice break from the usual arguments...

If people haven't been, they should go. The Southwest is one of my favourite places to visit.

I have not been there. Enjoy the trip. You can check out Trip Adviser. They tend to have good posts about travel locations.

You should go if you can.

Trip Adviser is great, but it tends to focus on the touristy spots. I try to avoid those. I like the more out of the way spots and hidden gems.

Im a hypocrite though...I'm a tourist myself, but I hate what tourism has done to interesting places.

I agree. That is why I time my trips to Europe typically in the spring or fall (winter for Christmas Markets). I don't go in the summer. Too many tourists.

I don't really understand why anyone would go to Europe in the summer. It's hot and there's a million other idiots stinking up the place. Huge lineups and congestion doesn't make for a fun time.

My wife and I did the south of France and Italy in March and we had small towns to ourselves. I'd rather have a bit of rain and quiet streets than sunshine and bus loads of couples in cargo shorts.

    Have fun....
I am tired of everyone fighting with each other. This is all by design.

I expect a rejuvenated CS back here is a week or so giving me a hard time.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd resurrect this one.

I'm headed down to the Charleston SC area next week with the wife and dog next week for a little vacation. I haven't been there before and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where to go and what to see.

We're driving down and we like hiking with the dog, beaches, historical sites and off the beaten path type stuff. Any input would be appreciated.
