If you cannot then the President committed war crimes against the Syrians and impeachable crimes against the Americans.

If the President has the authority to offensively strike a country with no approval from Congress, then what we live in is a dictatorship.

Yes, "we" should do nothing about it. It's none of our business. And that's what Trump said himself repeatedly during his presidential campaign.
But your statement assumes there is actual proof that Assad's forces were responsible for such attacks. So far, I've seen about as much proof that Assad's forces used chemical weapons as I have that Trump colluded with Russia, i.e., none.
