New York Gov. Cuomo grants 35,000 paroled felons right to vote

In an executive order signed Wednesday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo granted some 35,000 paroled felons the right to vote.

The move by the second-term Democrat came after state Republicans blocked a bill in the state Senate.
“I’m unwilling to take no for an answer,” Cuomo said at the annual convention of the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network in New York City. “I’m going to make it law by executive order.”

Gee, I guess the democratic process is different in his world, I would hope this goes before a judge and I would hope that it is ruled unconstitutional, but who knows NY may allow Dictatorships.

Yep.....that is what the Demos are resorting to. Since they can get hooked up for illegals voting and they can't be assured that Illegal Latinos will vote for them.

Shows you how desperate they are.

I don't know the process in NY but I would've thought that this is a legislative issue?

Nah, just ask Virginia where Terry McAuliffe the Clinton-Crat did the same thing. Then ask Jerry Brown in Californification.

Raising the voting age to 21 without amending the constitution is unconstitutional and wouldn’t survive court. Lowering it to 16 doesn’t run afoul of the cobstitution.

I don't know that it is -- other than perhaps a violation of the separation of powers -- although, I think that they are using their pardon powers. There was some talk about WPOAT doing the same thing before he was off the throne but that was rejected as a blanket pardon would be unconstitutional and/or illegal.

If the removal of voting rights is an the form of a law, the Gov does not have the power to change the law, it is part of the Separation of Powers. Now maybe the Constitution of NY allows the Gov to change it, I don't know I am not failure with their Constitution. If it does not allow that however it would be unconstitutional.
