I would really like for someone to explain to me what obama did for 8 yrs to curb Putins Ambitions. It appears to me that in those 8 yrs putin went from a mouse to a lion. He went from not being a threat, to hacking our intelligence, disrupting our Presidential election, digging in the middle east, buddying up to china and some say passing us by in Missile technology and other military technology and poisoning his enemies.

Yet everything Russia was Trumps fault from the day he won the election.

Not that any was needed, but this thread should be proof that anything Trump does short of total conflict with Russia will never be enough for the Russia-hating zealots. They will accept nothing less than "regime change" in Syria and full-spectrum confrontation with Russia. If Trump does not give it to them, then they will just keep trying to destroy him and de-legitimatize him. Trump's attempts to placate them with tough-guy rhetoric on Twitter and symbolic attacks on Syria is a sign of weakness and faltering that will only embolden his enemies. They will keep hounding and attacking him until they get EVERYTHING they want. And even that might not be enough. Trump's best and probably only option is to return to what won him the presidency: Following his instincts. His instinct was to leave Syria soon. But instead of following his instinct, he allowed himself to be duped and goaded into a foolish attack on Syria. Trump will gain absolutely nothing by blasting Russia and attacking Syria. I would be surprised if it gained him even a single voter. But I wouldn't be surprised if it lost him a significant amount voters and enthusiasm. Trump's only hope is staying fiercely loyal to the people who put him in office, otherwise he doesn't stand a chance.

Yup, it makes no difference how tough Trump tries to get on Russia, anything less than total hatred towards Russia will not be accepted. So either Trump must surrender completely or he must remain true to his campaign promises about fostering good relations with Russia and staying out of Syria. There is no middle ground on this issue anymore. Trump needs to pick a side.

It's not what Obama did. It's what Hillary did. She lost.

It's odd how the liberals continue to promote this meme that Trump is somehow Putin's puppet.
