It certainly sounds like a hypothetical theory and not a fact. I doubt your cab driver knew anyone in the test program. There are 4000 people in the test run.
He may have suspected something, but that's hardly proof of anything.
Its not not that I find a lot of things suspicious, it's that I have a hard time just trusting the word of a random cab driver making wild claims.
