I'm not suggesting Trump had absolutely no impact on the process, I just disagree that the credit can be laid solely or even mostly at his feet. Like every president has at some point or another, Trump is going to benefit from circumstance. In May 2017, for the first time in history, a motivated and passionate advocate of Korean unification and rapprochement with Noko won election to the South Korean presidency. Moon Jae-in has hit the ground running since his election and has done everything in his power to show that he is serious about peace on the peninsula. On top of that, you have Kim Jong-Un, who wants to be respected as a world leader and maintain his power over Noko. He tried following his father and grandfather's route to respect with the military parades and missile tests, and got laughed off and mostly ignored. With Moon Jae-in's election, he sees peace with Soko and denuclearization as a chance to finally get the respect he wants and most likely the longevity to his reign over Noko that he wants. If he follows through with this, he'll be remembered in history probably with more positivity than his father or his grandfather. This is his chance to step out of their shadows.

You have very low standards, apparently.

Despite nonstop attacks , from the media, and even from within our OWN GOVERNMENT, Pres.Trump is rapidly becoming the most successful POTUS in US history, as he continues to accomplish great things, while dealing with the two year long seditious conspiracy, and its $#@! child , the Mueller Witch Hunt.

Now, get ready for the local left to "find something wrong" with this potentially HISTORIC revelation:

North Korea willing to accept 'complete denuclearization' without conditions, Moon says

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea has expressed its commitment to "complete denuclearization" of the Korean Peninsula and is not seeking conditions, South Korean President Moon Jae-in said on Thursday, as the United States vowed to maintain "maximum pressure" on Pyongyang.

Moon said big-picture agreements about denuclearization, establishing a peace regime and normalization of relations between the two Koreas and the United States should not be difficult to reach through summits between the North and South, and between the North and the United States.

I don't think denuclearization has different meanings for South and North Korea," Moon said during a lunch with chief executives of Korean media companies. "The North is expressing a will for a complete denuclearization."
"They have not attached any conditions that the U.S. cannot accept, such as the withdrawal of American troops from South Korea," he continued. "All they are talking about is the end of hostile policies against North Korea, followed by a guarantee of security."

North Korea has defended its nuclear and missile programs, which it pursues in defiance of U.N. Security Council resolutions, as a necessary deterrent against perceived U.S. hostility. The United States stations 28,500 troops in South Korea, a legacy of the Korean War.

North Korea has never said this. Just Trumper. And it is reported North Korea wants US troops out of South Korea. That is the ONLY thing North Korea has said. Given his history of lying, I think I can believe North Korea over Trumper.
If the Republicans will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them.

In general I agree. I just think Trump deserves more credit on this issue that you.

I guess Moon doesn't understand his OWN SITUATION. Perhaps you should contact him and instruct him on how wrong he is about his own nation.

Yes, Kim wants US troops out of South Korea. That will happen during the reunification process. Although I suspect reunification will destroy the economy of South Korea. It will also take a generation or longer to un-brainwash the North Koreans.

Yeah Lil Kim wants an end to the exercises and that guaranteed security. I doubt he will give up the nukes he already has. Even if he was given that.

But he might shut down their program for good.

Will not happen unless South Korea agrees , and only after we have verified de-nuclearization of NOKO.

The current government is for reunification. As are many of their citizens.
