Post Enzyme That Eats Plastic Accidentally Found in Lab

Enzyme That Eats Plastic Accidentally Found in Lab. It’s a potential breakthrough in the fight against plastic pollution— an enzyme that can digest plastic that is commonly found polluting our environment. The discovery could oneday result in a recycling solution that can process millions of tonnes of plastic, made from polyethylene terephthalate (also known as PET), which currently persists in the environment for hundreds of years.

And then what? I predict we will find this enzyme produces lung warts in Baltimore wharf rats so we will have Concerned Scientist issuing communiques calling for its ban.

What about The Conservation of Mass-Energy. There is a scientific law called the Law of Conservation of Mass, discovered by Antoine Lavoisier in 1785. In its most compact form, it states: matter is neither created nor destroyed. Where does the plastic go?

It will get free of the lab and eat all the PET plastics in the world, collapsing our civilization and reducing us to Stone age technology.
People who think a movie about plastic dolls is trying to turn their kids gay or trans are now officially known as

    To Baltimore?

It doesn't go anywhere. It breaks down the chemical bonds that make plastic. In the case of PET or Polyethylene terephthalate it will break down into monomers of C10 H8 O4 or Ethylene Phthalate and then begin to lose its oxygen and hydrogen atoms, leaving the carbon atoms to decay. In other words, it will turn to dust.
