No, not really. We need to quit spending billions of dollars a year on people who are here illegally.

No other country does what we do, I wonder why..... I don't really, rhetorical question.

That's Canada's problem.....and, when talking about Syrians, I literally do mean, problem.

The situation must be severe for a person to make the choice to leave with nothing. It must be bad, if you have to risk it all just to try and survive.

These people could be us. The only reason it isn't is because we were lucky.

There is no difference between humans, at the fundamental level. We all laugh, we all cry, we all feel pain, and joy. We all want comfort, we all need a warm meal, and a place to call home. We are all human beings. We are not just a race, we are not just black, brown, or white. What defines a human being is their heart, and until a human does not act like one, they should be treated like one.

Very true but we cannot support the world. I donn't agree with the separation of children and parents, but there is no obligation to admit either

Exactly. Send the parents back with the children....solved.

It's a loophole. That is why many are caught with kids that are not their own to get around our laws and then some are trafficking them.

True , most are running from something bad or towards a better future for their family . But we can't take in the world. We could along with Mexico and other nations build reguee camps south of the border. It's pretty well established that you can help more people close to home than you can through long distance refugees. Maybe grant visas to some of these families rather than rich Indian kids coming here to be educated and leave an educated American kid jobless or flipping burgers? Or to atheletes who are in no dire straits where they live

Your claim is a good example. You're claiming that 250,000 immigrants enter the US daily.

My math skills are $#@!, but that would mean 1.75 million immigrants a week and 91 million a year. Is that what you're claiming?

This nonsensical and hysterical argument is why a rational dialogue on immigration is nearly impossible. If someone advocates for compassionate solutions for individuals and families that have lived in the US for most of their lives and for children have grown up in the US, they are accused of advocating for open borders.

Its like claiming a person who is in favour of decriminalizing pot is actually for giving children crack.

What I truly find fascinating is that you attack my hyperbole but fail to take issue with the exceptionally low number of immigrants Canada allows into its country yearly.
