If thou detest the colloquial parlance of the plebiscite intraurban hoi polloi, thou shouldst truckle your remonstrance with the provincial functionary. If doubtlessly it causes thy vexation, thou must doeth what thou must doeth. The parlance of thy good kings English shall not be trifled with.

If I were you, I’d choose a different line of attack.

Thankfully I'm not you. Why should I choose another line of attack?

I get being critical of colloquialisms and seeing them as a $#@!ization of language, but "I be not knowing..." isn't something people say. It's not an actual example of hip hop vernacular.

English has evolved in a large part due to its informal usage. Quite often it's due to the ignorance of proper grammatical form, but that's how language evolves. It happens in hip hop and it happens among other cultural groups.

Maybe not in Canada, but it is in the US. I've heard much worse. I've heard the English language destroyed in ways which I can't mimic.

In an interview I once heard a famous professional basketball player answer a question with "I does what I wants to does when I wants to does it".

    "I be not knowing"?

I've never heard that in a rap song or anywhere else. We have black people here too you know.

To people in the 19th century, we could be seen as destroying the English language as well.

I'm not advocating it, I'm just putting it into perspective. If you look at the language used in the backwoods of Louisiana, East London or in inner cities, they all modify language in their own way.
