    The Kanye Thread

    So with all this talk of Kanye lately, I figured I start a music thread dedicated to Yeezy.

    Personally, I consider him the best rap artist of all time. I have so many great memories listening to Kanye West songs. His catalog is huge and diverse.

    The following song is off his first album. After all the years, it's still one of my favorites. It never achieved real mainstream success or popularity because it's not the standard "gangster" rap song. It doesn't glorify money, hos, guns, etc. It's a song about family and draws upon the melodies and spirits of Motown. I think even people who do not like rap could enjoy this song if they listened to it with an open heart.

    I don't hate his music. I think he's a nut though. That car accident may have caused drain bamage.

    His latest comments may be an attempt to stay relevant though. He's being overshadowed by people like Drake and Kendrick Lamar these days.
