Some of the bans were warranted. Some of them never contributed anything to any discussion and others could be rational contributors much of the time. Those who had a history of being nothing but a troll don't need to be offered this amnesty.

I think most of the decline here is people because of leaving on a voluntary basis. Primarily because of the conduct of those who claim "RWNJ's" are running people off.

My question is, how would they know the amnesty was offered?

That was my intent, first blanket amnesty for all banned would never be done considering what some of them were banned for. Racism, White Supremist crap more than a few are socks, plus as you said how do you find them to ask them to come back.

You do need an email address to register as a member. Even if a member has been banned, admin still has access to that address, right?


I do think that some of the bans were justifiable and others were not. Right now this place would be better off if a couple of people were sent packing, but you can't ban everyone.

Did you go read the ban list ethereal, If so I suggest you go over it again and think why each was banned in the first place. Even the ones that would be considered to come back doesnt amount to a handful.

I could see it on a case-by-case basis. I know in the past a banned person went to Admin and made his case and was let back in.
