Post Louisiana man convicted of attempted manslaughter for shooting at fleeing invader

A Louisiana man has been convicted of attempted manslaughter for shooting into the car of a fleeing home invader who allegedly held three people at rifle-point before being disarmed. Jurors on Thursday convicted 27-year-old Aaron Neames of Walker, the Advocate reports. The defense had argued Neames was protected by the state’s “stand your ground” law.

Read the facts folks -- not a stand your ground case.

It sounds like the convicted guy is as much of a dirt-ball as the home invader.

They tried to do this in NC. People came in held up a small county store, killed his wife, shot at them. While they were hiding and shooting back, they invaders were running out the store and he shot one in the back and they arrested him. He was not convicted and there was a big outcry against him being arrested.

Definitely not a "stand your ground" case by any reasonable definition.

That’s not far out of town from here.

Yeah, definitely not a stand your ground case. Seems the charge was legitimate.

Once the man left his home, his duty was to immediately dial 911 and give as much information as he could.
