We went down to Frenchman Street because we were told that's where the top blues and Jazz bands play. It wasn't any better than Bourbon Street. A cab driver taking us to the airport said that we went there on the wrong nights.

He did drive us through the ninth ward. All I could think when driving through there was "holy $#@!".

I'm glad I went, but I don't need to go back. Five days is too long to spend there.

Let's cut to the chase, shall we? New Orleans is a big ghetto.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Yes, like the demographics of the city. No mystery here.

I don't believe the demographics have changed significantly. Maybe the attitudes have changed.

Oh, but they have. New Orleans was majority white (a vanilla city lol) in 1970.

The best music I heard was a couple of street musicians a few blocks off Bourbon Street.

The most interesting band I saw was a four piece group called the Cajun Drifters. They were playing on Bourbon Street at a place called The Bayou Club. For some reason the Cajun music got my attention.

I have no plans or need to go back.
I hung out in the Quarter in college and law school. There use to be an Irish Pub, off the beaten path- mostly locals drank there. It closed, not sure when.

I feel the way you do about Las Vegas that you do about NOLA. (Once is enough).

I like it, except for the fried food.
