Shadow welfare and Medicare make up the biggest pieces of welfare in the population. People forget that their work benefits are subsidized by the government. You confuse Medicaid with Medicare. Medicare was paid by everyone who worked after 1966 and a premium is still paid.

"taxes legally not paid." That's an idiotic statement. I pay all the taxes I'm supposed to pay. A tax exemption is just what it means. You only pay taxes you owe.

The IRS general publication for instructions to file, I think Pub 19, says up front to pay only what you owe and encourages you to use all legal exemption available to you.

If we believed in equality before the law we should all pay the same tax rates. The very ideas of taking from the Productive to buy the votes of the unproductive is abhorrent.
