I'd rather see garden scaping or zero scaping than lawns. Lawns, quite apart from being a significant waste of water are labor intensive, generally unnatural to the environment, require chemical intervention to keep weed free and are quite boring to look at. A selection of indigenous plants, shrubs and trees artfully arranged, are far more beautiful and beneficial to the environment.
