Ohio House Panels OK’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ Gun Bill

This has been somewhat quiet:

The long-awaited and controversial “stand your ground” law that expands the instances in which licensed gun owners can use lethal force in self-defense won approval by an Ohio House committee Tuesday. House Bill 228 was reported to the full House by the Federalism and Interstate Relations Committee 7-3 on party lines. It is unclear when the bill could go before the currently speakerless-House for a full vote, but what is clear is Gov. John Kasich is not a fan of the proposed legislation. Kasich has said he would not sign the bill and is expected to veto it if it were to reach his desk. The long-time gun rights advocate has had an about face on firearms, calling for “common sense” gun-reform legislation following the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida.
