He's correct. I fear tRump and his cultists have already done irreparable damage to the nation. Fully 1/3 of our people can no longer tell truth from fiction, and actually seem to applaud the fiction just because it supports their bias. We are a lUghingstock internationally as well as being considered untrustworthy. The economy looks good for the moment, but we are hanging on the edge of a cliff fiscally. The racists feel bold enough to throw off their covers. And so on.
I don't see it getting any better soon either.

A union that owes its existence to brute force is not legitimate in any way.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

It was a bit hyperbolic of Obama to say that. Just as hyperbolic as when people claimed the same thing about his presidency.
America survived Obama, it can survive anything.

I dunno about that. CNN is running a series called "1968" right now. I rarely watch that channel, but every now and then it does carry an interesting series.
Anyway, I was only 10 at the time, and remember when MLK and Robert Kennedy were murdered. But I didn't realize how divided our country was at the time. Riots broke out at political conventions, inside and outside. Police were brutal back then and racism was alive and well.
IMO, warts and all, we've come a long way since 1968.
“Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured…but not everyone must prove they are a citizen. And now, any of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens.”
