They've seen bribery work for China, in the ZTE scandal.
News: Rich people paying rich people to tell middle class people to blame poor people.

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

I'm not surprised. There is a long history of Polish antipathy toward Russia as well as a current belief in both Poland and Ukraine that the Russians are trying to create tension between both countries and undermine the growing ties between western Ukraine and Poland.

Poland is just another parasitic foreign entity who wants to use American wealth and power to their own advantage. And for some reason, many Americans are more than happy to accommodate them, even if it means potentially sending Americans off to fight and die in some foreign squabble that has no connection to our common defense.

Republicans claim to be "conservatives", yet they are the most aggressive in terms of abandoning the foreign policy of America's founders. Instead of avoiding foreign entanglements, Republicans actively seek them out while claiming the mantle of true patriots. In reality, they are true progressives, following in the footsteps of Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and FDR.

Well at least they are willing to pay unlike some other freeloader states.

Part of the American plan to increase presence in the region. Ethereal's viewpoint here has been proven wrong time and again. Reagan deployed medium range missile systems and increased military presence and the same argument Ethereal uses here was used as opposition. Russia....isn't going to war over Poland and they're not going to show aggression with a US military base present. Just like they never did in West Germany or Eastern Europe. They've enough trouble sustaining themselves in Syria or Ukraine.

This isn't a "Republican" or "Conservative" policy either, Ethereal, you pulled that one out of your ass.

Suddenly our forum Left doesn't support aggression against Putin? You might do your homework...Ethereal I ain't talking about you here, I'm addressing our Russian collusion crowd here, many I see on this thread......homework would also show them Trump selling Ukraine lethal weapons. A serious slap across Putin's face.

Trump moves here..if the US accepts(I would)increases US presence and puts yet more US troops in Eastern Europe. Trump being a serious thorn in Putin's ass rather than being in collusion with each other but...….we've got media sheep who believe otherwise.

$2 billion won't even come close to covering the lifetime costs of a permanent military base. And it certainly won't cover the costs of a war between the US and Russia, which is what America is risking by committing to Poland's defense.

I didn't say America should accept. However, I would bet that there are some in the State Dept, the CIA and in DoD that would love to have a base overlooking Russia.
