Jesse Duplantis, who runs a Christian ministry headquartered in Destrehan, asked for the donations in a video posted on his website last week.

Never heard of Mr. Duplantis, but from reading the article it would appear he is nothing more than a huckster in my opinion.

I believe he did take a stab at becoming president, running against Bush Sr. in '87 but didn't get the GOP nomination.
