Cain and Romney Now Tied in Iowa Republican Poll

Businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney are in a statistical tie for the most support among Republicans in Iowa, where the presidential nomination contests start Jan. 3, a poll shows.

The Iowa Poll, conducted by the Des Moines Register newspaper, shows Cain with the support of 23 percent of likely caucus participants and Romney backed by 22 percent.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has considerable work to do in Iowa, the poll shows, if he wants to regain his standing in the race. Perry has support from 7 percent of likely caucus-goers in the poll, trailing Representative Ron Paul of Texas at 12 percent. Besides Cain and Romney, Paul was the only other Republican candidate to exceed 10 percent.

Perry: Done. Cain still has work to do in the early states, even a victory in Iowa doesn't mean much as Romney has already won N.H. for all intents and purposes. SC and FL remain to be seen.

What makes this bad for Romney is he has people there. Cain doesnt and he is still winning. Those Hawkeyes still stiffen at Romney being a Mormon.

I think the Mormon aspect will work against Romney in most cases. Then again if he is competing mostly against Cain there is the race issue working against him. Both are probably minor when it comes to the general election, considering how strong the dislike of Obama will be.

I would have to agree with the Media Controlling $#@! with theses debates and the Exposure of these Candidates. Several times MS Media has mentioned they see this and yet they do nothing to bring that balance round. Yet influence the direction the camera looks upon. The Wolrd of the Media should not be setting the tone of the debates in the first place.
