    Hunting ISIS

It's a new documentary show on History Channel about western volunteers, particularly American ones, who traveled to Iraq and Syria in order to help with the fight against ISIS: https://www.history.com/shows/hunting-isis

I just finished watching the first episode and I am JACKED. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a part of me that would like to go back and do some operating.

Most of the volunteers are attached to Kurdish units: The Peshmerga in Iraq and the YPG in Syria.

Would highly recommend watching this show.

Very cool. I have seen news articles on the topic. A TV series is a good idea.

If I were younger I would seriously consider it.

Putting your life on the extreme line for a dollar bill. Military Contractors fill body bags every day.

I was in the sand box. I had the chance to go back and make some serious money, tax free. I declined. I survived, no sense in jumping in a cage with a Cobra if I do not have again.

Playing with ones life unnecessarily, and in the name of the dollar bill. I just read two days ago, a Green Beret was killed in a Mortar Attack if I recall correctly.

Deploy if your country needs you, under the American flag and Military Uniform. DO NOT deploy in the name of money.

If you want to travel, if you want excitement, if you want to be an elite Soldier, fly to France and join the French Foreign Legion. They will take anybody ; AND YOU get a French Citizenship after five years I believe. Also, talking the other day with people... the Israeli Defense Forces as I understand will take you. Get a plane ticket, fly to Israel and enlist.

    Good luck.

He was a support troop assigned to 3d Group. That doesn't make his loss any less significant, but for the sake of accuracy, he wasn't an 18 series operator.

The best example to support your statement is Nicholas Berg beheaded on video. His father blamed Bush, his death was unfortunate but he was not Military he was not ordered to fight for his country in Iraq, he was voluntarily in country for one reason, make money.

They are not mercenaries, they are volunteers fighting alongside the Kurdish militia.

And I already did my time in the Marines.
