It is my belief that we can sample such a small portion of all that is that conclusions we draw from that non statistically significant sample of information are extremely questionable and wouldn't pass muster in any other science.
Evidence that this is true is everywhere. Those who study the cosmos can just make stuff up in order to make their math work.
The universe should be more massive but it's not. Can't be the fact that we can only study a miniscule portion of it. Nope, there must be huge amounts of matter that we can neither see or inter act with in any way. How much such matter? Why however much it takes to make our math work. It's literally that ridiculous .
Having said that it is still fascinating and I love shows like these.

I've watched all of these. Yes, I think all of them.

I can appreciate that I just thought I would link them incase anyone wanted to watch. I just really like science and history shows. Not trying to push a view point just wanted to share educational entertainment. I love science and quantum physics, and I like to watch these kinds of shows.

If anyone else has any awesome science shows they have watched it would be awesome if they could list links to those. We could share some of the awesomest shows we've seen, if they are available in a link that is. That was really my thought in creating this thread

I am having trouble following you.

Do you mean that we are observing from this stationary tiny spot in the universe and trying to infer how everything works? Is that it?

It is true that there is so much we haven't explored, and the truth is that (as of our current understanding and technological limits) we never will be able to unless we can figure out how to travel faster than the speed of light.

The reason we can infer certain truths about the universe is because we allow ourselves to assume that the laws of physics are uniform, and work the same here on Earth as they do in the rest of the universe. We may be wrong about this, but nothing has indicated it. Perhaps there are parts of the universe where gravity is a weaker force. Perhaps light travels slower through a vacuum in some parts of the universe than it does here. So, the kinds of things that you hear scientists talk about in a sense are "made up." We have not directly observed them, but they DO fit into the model of our understanding. It is almost as if scientists are able to act as prophets, in this way.
