    I'm sure it's possible.

If they can prove that he deprived the prisoners of proper nutrition in order to line his own pockets, they could get him. It may be hard to do that, though. For one thing, the sheriff is probably following a long practiced method that has been done by every sheriff since this law was made. For another, public support for prisoners versus a sheriff is little to none.

Why do you want him charged? He complied with the law.

OK. Well, could you point me to that thread, or make a new one about it, and we'll discuss it there, please?

It is an old law. It would be good to sunset every law we write so we update them from time to time.

There is nothing on the books to charge him with. Should it be wrong yes. Just like some that confiscates cash from people traveling. They have to prove they are not running drugs. Biggest reason I stopped buying coins at coin shows in other states. If pulled over you are suspicious if you are carrying large amounts of cash.

Well, nothing immediately obvious...no. However, his actions are unethical enough to garner sympathy for a case that argues that he is depriving inmates of proper nutrition for the sake of making more money for himself.

Perhaps he shops at Sams Club.
