    Post Courtroom Dress Decorum

Well... Well.... Well... Today, two articles hit my inbox on courtroom dress decorum:

    http://www.mariettatimes.com/opinion...-at-the-beach/

    http://www.toledoblade.com/Letters-t...-editor-9.html (locked link possibly)

    Update: Also found this: http://www.slate.com/blogs/crime/201...hings_you.html

When I was a younger lawyer, it was sacred to dress appropriately for court. I still dress appropriately for court. Once (1), I was in the office dressed in jeans and boots b/c I was going to a site visit and one of my partners got sick. I was asked to cover a court appearance. I called the judge, spoke to him and let him know that I was not dressed for court. When I got there, there were two baby lawyers and he massively dressed me down in front of these lawyers for inappropriate courtroom attire. He was sending a message to them, not me.

Show respect, dress appropriately. The Court will view you a tad bit more favorably b/c you've shown a small amount of respect for the system.

Think 3rd party for 2024 folks. Clean up America.

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

Oh, I wish I were a glow worm,
for a glow worm's never glum,
'cause how can you be grumpy
when the sun shines out your bum!

I'd break into my pirate voice if ever questioned by those guys.

    Uh... no, we really shouldn't.

Maybe one day a year. October 31st would be a good day for it.

Justice and treatment should have absolutely nothing to do with how one dresses or ones perceived respect or lack-thereof of the "system."
