    No.

    It is the moon.

    lunatic (adj.)

late 13c., "affected with periodic insanity dependent on the changes of the moon," from Old French lunatique "insane," or directly from Late Latin lunaticus "moon-struck," from Latin luna "moon" (see luna).
Compare Old English monseoc "lunatic," literally "moon-sick;" Middle High German lune "humor, temper, mood, whim, fancy" (German Laune), from Latin luna. Compare also New Testament Greek seleniazomai "be epileptic," from selene"moon

For some reason, Mister V is allowed to insult other posters with virtual impunity. If and when his insults become too brazen even for the MODS to ignore, they give him a little slap on the wrist and he's back to his old ways within a day or two.

That's right, right away, it never fails, one, two. Two, three, four, five, six, then it's magic sticks he's after to push. Then when he doesn't get the attention he feels he deserves, he talks about the number of books he says he has. Then it's his education and his riches. You're supposed to feel bad because he's a rich *****.

Ya, well, the job of a moderator is to do the job they promised they would do, not make justifications for abuse. Sure, that is your attitude, justify the abuses. So, then MisterVeritas is nothing less than a worthless piece of debris, and you must say you agree that he is. Otherwise, you may be denoted that yourself, as he just seems to get away with everything because he gets to write trash because he has riches.

Mega corporations are planning on mining asteroids. No they are not going to travel to the asteroids and mine them there. They are going to drag them close to earth. https://www.news.com.au/technology/s...2f1540cba84c0f This is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard of. We monitor asteroids in hopes that one does not come into our orbit and threaten our earth. But we are going to bring them in. This could potentially be disastrous. Not to mention what if one crashes into our earth. If we move things in space we can cause chain reactions. We can cause other more larger asteroids to change course and be attracted to earth.
Sometimes if we have a great idea we should thoroughly think it through completely before venturing.

I have had many ideas, and if I see one with harm I will keep it to myself, or remove it from the drawing board. If that were not enough, if we mine countless asteroids then we will add to the mass of the earth in a faster than natural way. If the Japan earthquake caused a slowing of the rotation what could the repercussions be for adding mass to the earth? There is a lot to consider.…….. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/as...rth-2013-01-08 ……… https://www.wired.com/2011/10/asteroid-moving/

Here is another way that we could turn our earth into a mars like planet. We have got plans to mine the moon https://www.seeker.com/space/explora...-its-not-alone So does that sound harmless? Here is what I mean by we should look deeply at our ideas before we act consider all the possible consequences.

The moon is the heart beat of the earth. The earth is the way it is because of the moon. The moon orbits the earth and it tugs on the earth as it goes around it squeezes it, that is the reason why we have the tides, the gravitational pull is so strong it lifts the oceans. It is like a heart. It keeps the mantle dynamic and keeps our earth active it controls our weather and tides. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_does_t...effect_weather

If you deeply look you can see how this makes all like possible on earth. If we do mine the moon we will take that part of the equation out. We will remove yet another one of our conditions for life. The mass of the moon will change, and it is possible the moon will move away from the earth faster than it already is. https://www.universetoday.com/112450...on-leaving-us/

So there is a lot to consider when we decide to use up resources just because we can. What harm will come to living beings of today and of the future? It is something we should take seriously.

Deep thinking. Of course bringing asteroids closer to home or in any way changing their orbit is lunacy. Oh wait , that would be mining the moon. LOL
One thing stands clear with many of our plans . We do NOT learn from our mistakes. At one time the earth, the seas , the atmosphere was to vast to effect with our waste ( in our minds). We were wrong. But we still plan things that fly in the face of that lesson . We simply cannot get that big is not infinite. Must be that high math illiteracy rate we keep hearing about.
My other question would be what are we short on other than REM that we would need to do this? But since Wall Street , banks , politicians and the super rich in general would gain from this it WILL be pursued regardless of the risk.
