Post The Shifting Retirement Landscape Of Today's Workers

The Shifting Retirement Landscape Of Today's Workers. I have been reading a lot about this subject: retirement. Mrs U wants me to massively slow down and it is creating stress just to think about It.

This article discusses how people plan for this change:

people are living longer and healthier lives, changing careers more frequently and experiencing the freedom and flexibility of less conventional career paths. With these workforce changes comes a shift in how workers plan for retirement. In a few short years, one-fifth of America’s population will reach or exceed the average retirement age. Across industries, there is a shifting preference to come out of retirement, either through choice or necessity. These workers take retirement into their own hands in how they choose to continue working by capitalizing on two workforce trends: the encore career and the gig economy. While these trends are not exclusive to retired workers, they have had a direct impact on traditional retirement planning.

I prepared for retirement a couple of ways. Not all worked out. Publishing did. When I have something I'm busy with something I enjoy. When I don't I get bored.

I don't think i retired too early so much as not prepared mentally. I've worked at something since I was 14. I wasn't ready to do nothing.

I think a lot of retirees are finding the same thing.
