Well, on one hand, Hillary did so to avoid production; Trump does so in the ordinary course of business. HUGE DIFFERENCE LEGALLY. Secondly, because I strive for consistency. I was up in arms when Hillary destroyed my documents (for which I was soundly ridiculed here, thank you) and I have already criticized Trump for my documents. I strive for consistency and I ask you to do so as well. So, "Yes, Dave, I will join you in calling for Hillary's prosecution."

I don't think that The Donald ripped up the originals. My bet is that he did a "symbolic" shredding.

I think it's humorous to watch the partisan hacks vapor lock over everything Trump. He could cure cancer and they would say it's more proof that he colluded with the Russians.

I'm starting to blame Trump less for all of this and to blame Republicans entirely

He's who he is. He didn't lie about who he is, although he's become more so now that he has actual power. It's not as though he promised peace, love, and understanding, or even rational decision-making.

He was always going to fling poo and make uninformed, irrational decisions, until somebody put the brakes on his behavior. The real problem is that the people who were supposed to do it aren't doing it, so he just keeps on trucking. It's the scorpion's nature.

The founding fathers would never, ever have dreamed that a majority of Congress would do absolutely nothing to stop a megalomaniacal narcissist, let alone encourage and kowtow to him. I think the media and everybody who consumes it, myself included, is totally mesmerized and paralyzed by the extent of Trump's awfulness, but the real story is the Republicans' sitting on their hands through all of this. That is the real scandal. That is the real cause of the damage to our democracy. It's not just one man but hundreds of elected officials who are completely refusing to do their jobs, so they and we are just sitting here watching our country devolve before our eyes.
As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. --H.L. Mencken,

Actually, I believe that the founding fathers would have flipped out a long time ago, not because of Trump, but because of the political corruption that has taken over our Gov't and the blatant overreach of the Federal Gov't. The Constitution is the basis of our Gov't and the only powers that the Federal Gov't has are those given to it by the Constitution. We have left that idea far far behind.....
"The powers of the federal government are enumerated; it can only operate in certain cases; it has legislative powers on defined and limited objects, beyond which it cannot extend its jurisdiction." James Madison 1788

How'bout this odd comment ... Trump is now committing a major crime simply by shredding documents .... while his attorney Cohen who is soon to be indicted because he kept every document as evidence against himself and every other criminal cohort for the past 30 years ... including all those documents and etc. involving major Trump crimes ...
