I think the people are going to start--if they haven't already--looking elsewhere for news.

I can totally understand that. I left listening to talk radio years ago due to the negativity and literally the same topic for hours on end; a really huge turn off to me. If the networks and news channels were smart, they'd put a limit on how long they beat these stories to death on the air.

You may be right. Since when does Melania wear a $40 jacket from Zara?? She probably pays more than that for a pair of socks. Given that she keeps receiving criticism for what she wears, this may have been a deliberate poke in the eye, although probably not the best choice of venues for it.

Their major agenda for the day and even this morning is opining over the meaning of her jacket. They of course opine she doesn't care about the children she was visiting. Truthfully the meaning of the first lady's jacket is simply "I DON'T GIVE A FLYING BLEEP WHAT LEFTIST MEDIA SAYS, DO YOU?" If leftist media tried listening to the President occasionally, they would have noticed his decoding of the jacket and acted accordingly, and gone off and covered a real issue, huh?
