When I read this and saw the picture, I sat there and thought how could you watch a young man yelling for help drown and not only let him drown but laugh about his torment.

You have to be a special kind of scumbag to do that and its in the papers every single day more than ONCE and thats just NYC papers

That’s basically the case for every incident where it involves a different perspective.

I could not do nothing but that is different than the law compelling me to do something. I would want someone to help my son but I hope that I would not change my position in my grief - like the death penalty.

Not a law which says you must help a person whose life is in danger - no matter what the circumstances or danger to yourself if you do - but a law which says you must do what you can safely do, which includes calling the police, fire brigade, or ambulance. So-called 'freedom' is not a good thing when it lets people die, or causes suffering to any being - human or animal. Many 'freedoms' are just an excuse to do what you want, and never mind the effects on other people.

Better still. A law that says no one can hurt you if you do what you can to help. Today, in many states it is way too dangerous to help.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
