I don't understand why people could be okay with the POTUS telling such blatant lies. I mean, this is incomparable to any political act in the history of the U.S. It's one thing for a politician to make some bold promises to get people excited about an idea, and then it turns out later that it was just "hot air." That is the political kind of "lying" we are so used to. This is an entirely different thing. No sitting president has ever used his authority to directly and dishonestly dictate to the opinions of the American public in such a bombastic and untruthful way. All the while he is convincing people that he is not as "political" as his opponents are. Yet, 90% of everything he says is entirely political in purpose.“What we’re seeing here is the standard process of Trump launching a series of lies into our media ecosystem and then watching it bounce around and amplify through the system,” said Siva Vaidhyanathan, a professor of media studies at The University of Virginia. “So to respond with anything reasonable to the fact that the president basically made stuff up is to extend the message and to throw a bomb” into the political debate.
