Judge Amy Coney Barrett, of the Seventh Circuit--who is under serious consideration from President Trump, as a possible replacement for the retiring Anthony Kennedy--has recently been savaged by the left for her religious beliefs. (She is a practicing Catholic.)
Basically, the Catholic Church has been described as a "cult" by her detractors.
I would suggest that this serves as a mere proxy for the left's phobic belief that she might vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. (The Catholic Church, after all, remains strongly opposed to abortion.)
