Google has promised to halt its practice of computer scans of peoples' Gmail inboxes. Well, surprise, surpirse. To keep that promise, it has outsourced the controversial activity to its software developers, and Google says they allow it only if the email account owners grant permission.

It's the same type of activity FB allowed a few months back that resulted in Cambridge Analytica gathering and selling vast quantities of user data to who-knows-whom.

Google is trying to move into enterprise and things like this will prevent that. I've worked in companies that require HIPPA and/or CJIS compliance and Gmail is certainly not secure.

G-mail is frustrating the sh1t out of me, I just got a new phone and it seems like the Gmail app is trying to push out my MSN email which I prefer. So now I get double emails from both. That never happened with my old phone. I seriously considered dumping the Gmail app, but that will probably screw up all of the other google apps...sometimes I wish I was more tech savy...
