Hundreds of anti-gun protesters descend on Chicago, block freeway traffic.....

Hundreds of anti-gun rights protesters descended on Chicago Saturday and blocked part of a major freeway to demand lawmakers do something to stop gun violence.

The protesters marched along two of the freeway’s four lanes chanting “Black lives matter” and “shut it down.” Some protesters even carried crosses.

Illinois State Police said they reached an agreement with protest organizers to allow them access to a couple lanes of what is known as the Dan Ryan Expressway so they could “march peacefully for their cause,” Reuters noted.

On Friday, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel supported the protest, saying that it was important to raise awareness regarding the amount of gun violence in the city......snip~

Tiny Dancer supports this but then wont do anything about the bangers that help the Demos get out their vote.

Saturday, as South Siders plan to shut down the Dan Ryan Expressway in protest of the city’s weak response to shootings and homicides, there’s a much different reaction. These people are a threat to public order.

Naked bike riders disrupting traffic is OK, but black parents shutting down the Ryan for a short time — because City Hall hasn’t done enough to stop the slaughter in the streets and that’s a problem? They allow every gang protection including illegals.

Now I am against shutting down traffic either way but I see their point.
The city doesn't want to hear it and that's probably because stopping "the slaughter" means cracking skulls and putting a lot of black men in jail. As soon as that happens they will protest police brutality and harassment. That's what happened in LA. Lesson learned.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

'Stop the Killing.' Thousands of Anti-Violence Protesters Shut Down Chicago Highway ……

Thousands of anti-violence protesters marched along a Chicago interstate on Saturday, shutting down traffic in an effort to draw attention to the gun violence that’s claimed hundreds of lives in some of the city’s poorest neighborhoods and pressure public officials to do more to stop it.

Marchers chanted “Stop the killing” and carried signs reading “We need jobs” and other messages. Some stopped to scrawl on the road with chalk: “Enough is enough” and “Peace.” Toward the front of the march the Rev. Michael Pfleger, who organized the protest, Chicago police Supt. Eddie Johnson and the Rev. Jesse Jackson linked arms.

The march took place along the northbound lanes of Interstate 94, known as the Dan Ryan Expressway, after a roughly hourlong standoff between police and the protesters.

Illinois State Police, which had warned earlier in the week that any pedestrian entering the expressway would face arrest, said early Saturday that an agreement had been reached for protesters to march on a portion of the roadway. Officers and vehicles lined up, forming a barrier to keep protesters in two northbound lanes, allowing some traffic to pass in other northbound lanes.

But Pfleger and protesters insisted there was no agreement and that they would shut down the entire northbound roadway, with Pfleger noting the city closes major roads for parades and other occasions. The crowd began creeping into other lanes — a situation Pfleger said had the potential to become dangerous.

Illinois State Police, which has jurisdiction over expressways, announced around 11:30 a.m. that they were shutting down all northbound lanes of the expressway. Protesters then began walking northbound along a roughly 1.5-mile (2.4-kilometer) route.

There’s a historical significance to marching along the Dan Ryan Expressway — a roadway some believe was built in the early 1960s to separate white communities and poor, black ones. To the west of the new interstate were Comiskey Park, home of the White Sox, and neighborhoods such as Bridgeport, home to then-Mayor Richard J. Daley and his clan. To the east rose the Robert Taylor Homes, a high-rise public housing complex that became notorious for its violence.

It was the kind of racial and economic segregation that still exists in Chicago today.....snip~

Looks like the leftness got the Illinois State Police to back down. We will just walk in those lanes anyways. If I would have been calling it for the State Police I would have told them see that Semi Truck doing 70. Go ahead and wander over into that lane.

Of course the Lame Stream did have to bait the public with some Racial History.

Which none of that $#@! is playing out today. In those areas mentioned. I did notice they didn't mention the Demos being responsible for taking down most of the Robert Taylor homes.

Note Pfleger and Jesse Jackson aint walking up in the banger infested neighborhoods preaching about Stop the violence. They certainly aren't calling out the Gangs and Gang Organizations. Where is that all holding hands and whatnots. Wonder why not.

Is that some trembling I see from the alleged Leaders of the Protest.

Protesters Shut Down Major Chicago Highway; Mayor Emanuel Says Go For It, Comrades …..

Today, a massive movement of “anti-violence” protesters blocked traffic across a major Chicago highway in an effort to shutdown the road and call for "commonsense" gun laws. Mayor Rahm Emanuel had initially disapproved, then approved of the group’s plan to march on the Dan Ryan Highway, but Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner claims today that the group moved beyond what it was permitted to do.

Mayor Emanuel’s spokesperson had previously said that the protest will actually backfire on the marchers. “The very thing that they’re trying to accomplish — stop violence and stop shootings — has the potential to actually escalate because we’re pulling police officers out of the neighborhoods where we need them in order to escort the protesters down the expressway.” ….snip~

Tally is in.....5 dead and 35 shot over the weekend. So hows that protest working out leftists? It appears many didn't get the message. Should Jesse Jackson and the Leftness be playing like Hillary and asking.....What happened?

Other than Pfleger and Emanuel oiling each other up for Tiny' Dancers re-election bid next year.
