Believe it or not some people actually refer to Selena as "beaner music" I spent five years living a few miles from the border and can state with absolute certainty that they listen to other forms of music.

However if a person is ever in El Centro, California and walk into a cantina on main street called "Aces de Oro" they might want to look behind the bar before criticizing Selena. What they will see, unless it is under different ownership, is a poster of Selena surrounded by small blinking lights.
