Post How Science is Used as Propaganda

A new study says you can’t trust most studies. https://www.yahoo.com/news/beware-th...164336076.html Well, that is one way to make sure your study is believed… If the study is wrong, it proves the study is right! It’s like when someone tells you they are a liar… should you believe them. The fact is that a lot of people pass of as "settled science" their interpretation of whatever tests they do, whatever analysis they do, etc. There's a lot of subjectivity that goes into it.

A lot of us, knowing this, are suspicious that the conclusions reached on climate change have been manipulated for political agendas.

In my business, I hire experts all the time. The lawyers compete to get experts. They can all look at the same thing and see something different.

Or has I've put it for years now: "Studies show, that studies show, pretty much what the people funding the study want them to."

SCOTUS has tried to rein this in, at least in court evidentiary-wise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daubert_standard

Too few know how science works.

If someone proclaims consensus, he's probably not a scientist, just a politician.

If a someone claims he's proved something, he missed the boat on falsification.

If someone does explain his methods in a repeatable way, he doesn't even have proof.

If someone doesn't explain the statistical significance of findings, he's overgeneralizing.

As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. --H.L. Mencken,

In court, the criteria can't really be scientific, too few understand that. So it's reputation, believability, coherent story, understandable explanations. Perhaps courts have criteria but f I was on a jury, that's what I'd look for.

You've just quoted a science denying rwnj propaganda rag as a source on science.

Your descent into rwnj hackery is now complete.
